Analyze Your Drinking Water

Clean drinking water is essential for our daily lives and our health.

Although our water suppliers provide high quality drinking water, contamination can accumulate in our own piping systems (pipes and taps). Bacteria can pose a health risk if the tap water is used for drinking or showering.

A professional water test at BlueLab offers you a reliable way to determine the quality and hygiene of your drinking water.

Legionella Analysis

Many landlords of apartment buildings, those responsible for public facilities or hotel operators are legally obliged to carry out regular water tests for Legionella. The hygienic safety of the water must also be checked after construction work or renovation work on water systems.

Legionella are dangerous germs that live and multiply in water pipes. For example, when showering, the water is aerosolized and inhaled. In this way, the bacteria contained in these samll water droplets enter the lungs and can cause very serious infections (pneumonia, Legionnaires' disease).

A Legionella analysis also offers private individuals the opportunity to have their water hygiene checked.

The analysis contains the following parameters:

  • Legionella spp.

Water Analysis Small

This water analysis includes testing the tap water for harmful germs, such as E. coli and coliform germs, and determining a contamination by bacteria that multiply at two different temperatures.

Bacteria in water can affect our well-being and health and cause illness. Safe water quality is important in many areas, for example in hospitals or public facilities, but also in private households. This analysis package is therefore ideal for checking water hygiene

Water Analysis Standard

As an extension of the small water analysis package, the water is additionally tested for enterococci with this package (Water Analysis Standard) in order to check the water hygiene more thoroughly.

Bacteria in water can affect your well-being and cause illness. Safe water quality is important in many areas, for example in hospitals or public facilities, but also in private households. The addition of testing for enterococci is particularly recommended in cases of suspected contamination, problems with the pipe system in the house or risk groups in the household (immunocompromised persons, pregnant women, infants or small children who are susceptible to infections). This analysis package is therefore well suited for a thorough check of your water hygiene.

The analysis contains the following parameters:

  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa

FAQ

Why is it worth analyzing your tap water?

Although water suppliers in Germany must comply with the strict requirements of the Drinking Water Directive, water can become contaminated on its way through the water pipes in the house to the tap. Contaminants include substances such as heavy metals or bacteria. Contamination with bacteria is not visible to the naked eye, but if bacteria multiply to high concentrations in the water pipes, consuming water or inhaling small droplets of water when showering can lead to serious illness.

When is it worth checking your tap water?

  • People who belong to a risk group or sick people (immunocompromised persons, pregnant women, infants or small children) live in your house or household.

  • The flat or buldingbis not in constant use and therefore the water remains in the pipes for a long time (stagnation in the pipes leads to good conditions for bacterial growth).

  • You drink your tap water regularly and use it for showering.

  • You use the tap water for an in-house water dispenser.

  • The tap water is used to prepare baby food.

  • The water smells or tastes strange.
