BlueLab PRO – automated water analysis

BlueLab started its journey with the BlueLab PRO and the vision of making microbial water analysis simpler and faster. The BlueLab PRO is a fully automated desktop device and is currently in development. It is designed to replace the manual, time-consuming steps of traditional water analysis with an automated system and a user-friendly interface.

Development goal: using AI-driven image recognition, the BlueLab PRO is to provide quantitative results in under four hours, i.e. actual counts rather than a simple yes/no answer.

Planned workflow

Step 1: Load the samples

You collect the water samples in simple bottles and load them into the BlueLab PRO autosampler, which holds up to 10 samples. The analysis is started via our browser-based software, which also lets you monitor the process.

Step 2: Automated analysis

The device is designed to process the samples fully automatically and evaluate them with its AI-driven image recognition.

Step 3: Share the results

Once the analysis is done, you can inspect the results and share them with the parties involved quickly and easily.

Test kits

Our test kits are being developed with thorough validation in mind. During development, we carefully check their specificity, i.e. whether they detect only the target organism, and possible cross-reactivity with other bacteria.

Legionella pneumophila

The detection kit for Legionella pneumophila SG1 (serogroup 1) is in late-stage development.

E. coli

The test kit for E. coli is in early development.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa

The detection kit for P. aeruginosa is in early development.
